About me

I am a dancer first and foremost. I live and breathe all things related to dance, and I am always working on creative ways to share it with the world. My love of dance started when my mother dragged me kicking and screaming into my first ballet class at the age of 3. Back then, I was a hopeless little tomboy that had no interest in anything girly. However, I eventually fell in love with the joy and creative expression that dancing gave me, and it has been a lifelong passion ever since. My primary areas of emphasis are Middle Eastern dance (better known as belly dance), which I teach and perform, and ballet. I also study flamenco and island dancing (Tahitian and hula). My journey as a dancer has been a very humbling experience. There is so much history and so many stylizations and cultural interpretations to each dance format, that at times it has seemed overwhelming. I will continue to be both a student and instructor of dance, absorbing as much as I can and imparting as much knowledge and skill as I can to others.
